First, Arthur is frozen in shock after seeing Morgana crowned, but no, not Merlin. He’s seen this coming, so he’s ready. He jumps down from the balcony in the middle of the stunned crowd, has a really badass and magical fight in front of everyone with Morgana and Morgause, and stops them from killing Uther, while telling Morgana everything he should have said in the crypt in 1x2. Morgana and Morgause, so surprised that they are in the presense of Emrys, the legendary sorcerer whom they have been hearing awed rumors about for years, are so shocked that it’s Merlin that they give up fighting.
Right after saving the King with magic, Merlin turns and declares his love for Arthur in front of the entire court. Arthur is elated that Merlin is finally being honest with him—he knew about the magic, but not that Merlin returned his feelings—so he jumps down from the balcony and runs over to kiss him. Since the invention of the kiss there have only been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one leaves them all behind.
Uther, so moved by his son’s declaration of love and the realization that magic isn’t all bad, regrets his actions of the past twenty years, gives up his crown to Arthur immediately, and lives out the rest of his days growing a fantastic vegetable garden on the roof of the castle.
Arthur becomes king, marries Merlin, crowns him as his husband and sorcerer, and legalizes magic.
Morgana, realizing all of her past mistakes and how dangerous it is to bottle up your feelings inside, confesses her love for Gwen and they go off to be ruling queens of Cenred’s kingdom.
Morgause, happy that magic is no longer shunned, goes off to be the Lady of Avalon and helps the druids reclaim their rightful place all over the land.
Mordred shows up at the castle and it is revealed that he is Merlin’s half-brother with Balinor as his father. Merlin invites him to stay in the castle and they never tire of playing magical pranks on Arthur.
Gwaine, upon hearing that Arthur is now king, sets off to return to Camelot. He meets Lancelot on the road with the same intentions and they fall in love. They just couldn’t resist the combined silkiness of their hair.
Sir Leon marries Princess Elena in a freak heterosexual anomaly.
The Slash dragon comes to Camelot to sleep on the front lawn, because it really is the comfiest lawn in all the land.
And they all live homosexually ever after.
HNNG I WANT THIS TO HAPPEN BUT IT WON’T WHY WHY WHY
